How can I type accented letters on Langua?
Occasionally, you might want to type rather than speak. In order to type accented characters, you can check the options below, which vary slightly depending on your specific device model or software version.
Windows:
- Add a keyboard layout:
- Go to Settings → Time & Language → Language → Options → Add keyboard
- Select a language-specific keyboard (Spanish, French, Italian, etc.) OR
- Select "United States-International" keyboard (allows typing accents while keeping English layout)
- After enabling the keyboard:
- Switch between keyboards using Alt+Shift
- For US-International: type ' then e for é, ` then e for è, etc.
Mac:
- Add language keyboards:
- Go to Settings → Keyboard → Input Sources → + button → Select desired language
- Then either:
- Press and hold letter keys for accent options, OR
- Use keyboard combinations (Option+e then e for é)
- Switch between keyboards using Globe key or Control+Space
iOS/iPhone:
- Add keyboards:
- Go to Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard → Select language
- When typing:
- Press and hold letter keys for accent options
- Switch between keyboards by tapping the globe icon
Android:
- Add languages:
- Go to Settings → System → Languages & input → Virtual keyboard → Gboard → Languages
- When typing:
