What is the refund policy?
LanguaTalk offers both a platform for tutoring sessions, as well as one for independent learning (Langua). Below you can see how refunds work for each:
Langua
If you subscribe via the website or Google Play Store, Langua comes with a 30-day moneyback guarantee, so you can message or email us at any point during the first 30 days for a full refund. You can also cancel your subscription at any time via Settings > Subscription in Langua.
If you subscribe to Langua via the Apple App Store, unfortunately it won’t qualify for our 30-day guarantee because purchases made via Apple are subject to Apple's terms and their refund policies, which vary depending on your country. To request a refund for a purchase from the Apple App Store, you’ll need to do this via Apple. We've heard they are lenient and fair but we cannot guarantee refunds as we have no control there.
How does the 30-day moneyback guarantee work?
We want to give you a risk-free opportunity to experience the benefits of learning with Langua. We believe in our product and want you to feel confident in your decision to learn a new language with us. Only 5% of learners have asked for a refund, but when they do, we’re always quick to assist. Note that as mentioned above, if you subscribe via Apple, the decision is instead in their hands. We're told they are quite lenient but we cannot guarantee refunds as we have no power when it comes to Apple.
Tutoring
If you buy sessions with a tutor, you can get a refund on your remaining balance if you contact us within 30 days of purchase.
Please note that with tutoring, the payment processing fees will not be returned by the payment provider, Stripe, due to costs incurred with their partner banks. The fee is 2.9% + $0.30 for US cards, and 3.9% + $0.30 for international cards.

Alternatively, if you cannot find suitable time slots with your tutor and want to try someone else, we have a feature that allows you to make your remaining balance available for lessons with any other tutor.
To use this feature, go to Settings > Payments, and next to each payment you'll see you can click 'use balance with another tutor'. Note that scheduled lessons aren’t included in your available balance. If you have any scheduled and want to cancel them, do this first as you can only disconnect the balance from a tutor once.
After disconnecting the balance, when you next go to pay for lessons with another tutor, the balance will be discounted from the total.
